Pet food pantry: A Cause for PAWS, Kewaunee Co. Food Pantry and Festival Foods collaborate
KEWAUNEE COUNTY – As of Sunday, Feb. 1 through Sunday, Feb. 15 Festival Foods of Green Bay on University Ave. will be accepting donations of cat and dog food and treats, which will be collected by A Cause for PAWS volunteers and brought to the Kewaunee County Food Pantry to be distributed.

A Cause for PAWS partners with the City of Algoma to provide shelter for strays
ALGOMA, Wis. (WFRV) – Steps are being taken to make sure the lost pets of Kewaunee County have a place to go.
First forming in November 2023, a group of like-minded people including Rachel Charles, Julie Jacobs, and three other women, came together to explore how they could help facilitate a humane solution to the number of abandoned and lost animals in Kewaunee County.

A Cause for PAWS secures Wisconsin Humane Society contracts
Local strays to be accepted at area human societies
KEWAUNEE COUNTY – A Cause for PAWS, an animal advocacy group and nonprofit for Kewaunee County, has established contracts between the City of Kewaunee, Village of Luxemburg and Town of Casco with the Wisconsin Humane Society (WHS), allowing stray animals to be brought to the Brown or Door County Humane Societies without the risk of being turned away.

A Cause for PAWS seeks to end animal homelessness
KEWAUNEE – A Cause for PAWS is a group formed in Nov. 2023 by Suzie Leist and Julie Jacobs to help homeless animals in Kewaunee County. Originally made up of five volunteers recruited by Leist and Jacobs, the group is working to establish a contract with local municipalities to accept stray animals from Kewaunee County, which does not have a humane shelter.

Algoma City Council approves one-year contract with Wisconsin Humane Society
ALGOMA – During its Feb. 3 meeting, the Algoma City Council unanimously approved a resolution authorizing a contract with the Wisconsin Humane Society for the “sheltering, care, treatment, and humane disposal of abandoned, stray, unwanted, mistreated, aggressive, quarantined, or otherwise impounded animals located within the city of Algoma”.
